| Near the eastern border of Finland, we find the stone region of Ylämaa, traditionally known for the spectrolite found there. Brown viborgite, which is quarried in the region and sold as dimensional stone under the trade name Baltic Brown, is well-known around the world. Palin Granit Oy has two brown stone quarries in Ylämaa, located in the villages of Lahnajärvi and Hujakkala, and one quarry in the municipality of Miehikkälä. | |||||||||
